Global Apprenticeship Program
The Global Apprenticeship Program (GAP) was designed to be unique in its approach to training. It is our understanding that formal training only began in the institutional years of the church and that previous to this all training was conducted as internship or apprenticeship. The GAP combines the benefits of formal Bible School training with structured courses accredited by Elim Bible Institute in Lyma, NY with an internship program specializing in Missions and Church Planting. We call this combination APPRENTICESHIP.
The GAP is composed of two semesters entirely taught on the mission field. The first semester includes morning formal bible and language classes and afternoon projects. During these projects the students are divided into to teams that are together during the whole semester. These teams perform 12 weekly projects that roughly build toward one combined project, a Church Plant. Each week the projects are evaluated together and each team learns form the successes and failures of each other.
The GAP
teaches Americans and Brazilians side by side. Many theologians believe that
Paul and Barnabas may have known each other prior to Paul’s Salvation. It was
for this reason that Barnabas was so willing and ready to assist Paul’s
integration into the fellowship with the apostles. These theologians believe
that Barnabas and Paul may have studies side by side in Gamaliel’s school.
Think about it. Paul, form Tarsus, Barnabas, form Cyprus, studying together in
a third location and developing a relationship form which we derive much of the
New Testament and countless churches.

It is the goal of the GAP to provide an environment where students form around the world can study and develop relationships which we can’t even begin to imagine what will be built form them.
Following the GAP program students can:
a) Return to there secular jobs having had a tremendous experience living in a foreign country and having learned a foreign language and culture.
b) Return to a youth pastor’s position having had a tremendous missions experience living in a foreign country learning a foreign language and culture.
c) Return to a senior pastor’s position having had a tremendous missions experience living in a foreign country learning a foreign language and culture.
d) Be placed as a missionary in Brazil within Light to the Nations or along side one of our partners around the world (Europe, Africa, India, Australia, China, Middle East, Russia, etc.) through the Global 12 Project.
